The Snare of New Evangelicalism - part 6
Numbers 22-24
God had given clear instructions to the nation of Israel that they were not to marry foreign wives. They were to keep themselves pure. They were not to adopt the pagan ways of the ungodly. This same truth is taught in the New Testament.
2 Corinthians 6:14
“14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
This pertains to all areas of life, not just marriage. However, it certainly does pertain to marriage. It is wrong to think that a godly man can marry an ungodly woman and hope to win over an ungodly woman after marriage, or the other way around. Sometimes it does happen, but it is not God’s will at any time. Many times we see the ungodly person drawing the saved person away from the Lord. Again we do not govern our lives by experience, but rather by God’s truth.
New Evangelicalism is a snare that is keeping many people bound in sin. They have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof. God commands those who are saved to come out from among the unclean. God’s Word is truth and it is upon that we are to build our lives if we are saved.
